BACK IN ACTIONIt's been around 10 yrs since we last raced and now we're finally back. It's been a year in the works with a lot of work in between so here is a look at what's been going on. Our father bought the car at the 2004 March Meet in Bakersfield, Ca. Then through many months of hard work thanks to our father (Skip), Jason, Mark, Tom, Alex of American Roadster, John of Pro Machine ,Eric at Dynamotive, Joe of Westminster Transmission and many others, we finally got back to the track as participants, and it feels great.
Test & Tune
Bakersfield, Ca
We drove to the legendary race track Famoso Raceway to get our father's (Skip) racing license and find a tune up for the up coming Goodguys March Meet. The good thing about this sport is that it's a family sport and everybody seems to be pretty cool. With the weekend slowly fading away with a successful outing our father (Skip) got his license, we found a tune up for the car that should be fine for the upcoming race.
We are a young team that is still learning how to do things, but with talent of our family and the leadership of the people mentioned above, the sky is the limit. SS
March Meet '05
Bakersfield, Ca
Nostalgia Drag Racing's biggest race is the first race of the Goodguys event calendar, the March Meet. Like many others out there our team has been putting together our cars for this prestigious event.
For a young team, starting out at a big race like this has its pros and cons. The pros, we set the bar high and make the proper adjustments as we go. The cons, are getting in the line to register a little later than we should have and missing are first qualifying run while waiting in the huge tech line. Like I said earlier, we're a young team learning on the fly and you can only make these mistakes once and its acceptable after that we have a problem. We were ready for our next qualifying run or should I say our first and we ran a respectable run down the track, but we were two tenths off the last spot in the field and DNQ. Even though we didn't make the field, were making progress.
